Virgin Atlantic airlines managed to avoid its first-ever strike when it reached an agreement with its pilots union concerning work schedules.
Competitor British Airways continues to face possible strike by the union representing its cabin crew. The Unite union has already sponsored more than 20 days of strike action at BA this year.
Unite is seeking support from other BA union groups, although these have not joined in Unite's past actions against the airline. British Airways plans to operate all scheduled services if more cabin crew strikes are held.
